The 2019 BMW X5 Offers Seating for Seven, and Enjoyment for All

Few luxury SUVs are as versatile--or offer as many choices--as the new 2019 BMW X5. BMW may be a brand that specialized in performance handling and exhilarating driving, but they've pulled out all the stops for interior comfort and security in this newest model. The BMW X5 has been fully redesigned from the inside out for 2019, and the trim level line has, for now, been trimmed down: options include the X5 xDrive40i and X5 xDrive50i.

Spacious Versatility

It's easy to configure a 2019 BMW X5 that works perfectly for you. The new SUV can be equipped with a third row of seats to carry up to seven passengers in comfort and safety--or, you can choose a model with standard front and rear row, for five-passenger seating but a total cargo area of up to 76.7 cubic feet. The cabin offers incredible luxury features through a variety of package options, including leather upholstery in Vernasca or Merino styling, unique grip strips on the cargo floor in the back, and front cupholders that offer heating and cooling functions to keep beverages at the ideal temperature.

Iconic BMW Design in XL

As the largest BMW crossover in the lineup, the new 2019 BMW X5 has had to make some minor tweaks to the general design language of the brand--but it still adopts all of the same traditions and signature looks that we've come to love. That language is even louder for the 2019 MY, as the BMW X5 grows even more in size and aggression. Your all-new BMW X5 still offers the unique Hofmeister Kink design, the bold kidney grill, and sleek character lines. Just, in a much larger package.

Go the Way You Want

Powertrain options are completely new for 2019--down from four configurations in past years to, for now, two. The diesel-powered BMW X5 and the hybrid-electric iPerformance are missing from the lineup, as is an sDrive rear-wheel-drive model, but some of them are likely to rejoin the BMW X5 in the coming years. Currently, the standard engine on the xDrive40i is a 335-horsepower 3.0-liter twin-turbo six-cylinder, and the standard for the xDrive50i is a 456-horsepower 4.4-liter turbocharged V8. Both engines are more powerful than their predecessors.

Advanced New Tech and Safety

Smart technology like an available Wi-Fi Hotspot, BMW ConnectedDrive and iDrive 6.0 infotainment system, and smartphone integration help to set the 2019 BMW X5 a bar above the rest. A step-by-step navigation system, that can understand and respond to voice commands spoke in natural language, shows the true brilliance of BMW, and makes the X5 a must-see option. For 2019, changes to technology and safety include the addition of the BMW Live Cockpit Professional display system, and new dual infotainment touchscreens.
