Watch the Launchfilm for the All-New 2019 BMW X5

The BMW X5 Sports Activity Vehicle has been an icon since the late 90s when it first debuted as the new "Boss"--and as the very first BMW SAV.

Since then, there's been some necessary evolution to keep up with changes and ahead of the curve; but the changes that we're seeing for the fourth-generation 2019 BMW X5 are above and beyond what updates have rolled out in the past.

This all-new midsize luxury crossover is fresh from the inside out, longer, taller, and wider, and brings a more commanding presence to the streets of Austin.

Read on to learn what you can expect to find under the hood when the new 2019 BMW X5 arrives in the winter.

  • 330 pound-feet of torque
  • More HP than previous models

2019 BMW X5 xDrive50i Engine Specs

The new generation will currently offer one upgraded trim level, the xDrive50i with standard all-wheel drive. Pricing for new BMW X5 models hasn't yet been announced--we should hear in November.

  • 4.4-liter V8
  • Twin-turbocharged

We can expect to see a much wider variety of 2019 BMW X5 trim levels and engine options as the year progresses and we get into 2019--including, likely, an iPerformance hybrid variant, a rear-wheel-drive option, and a possible diesel powertrain.

Keep an eye on the blog at BMW of South Austin for more information about the new Boss sometime in November.
